Evaluation standards
STANDARS TO EVALUATE WORKS, FOR THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE OF THE WORLD MEDIATION FORUM – SPAIN 2012
I. PROPOSALS SHALL BE SUBMITTED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Format: Presentations will be made in any of the following ways:
- Conference: up to 60 minutes of exposure. (Proposed by the scientific committee)
- Papers: 15 minutes of exposure. (Ten pages maximum)
- Workshop: up to 120 minutes.
- Round Table: consists of several panelists on a theme: up to 90 minutes.( Proposed by the scientific committee)
- Poster: will be displayed at the time and place that is programmed for this purpose. Measures 70cm X100cm. Each participant will bring their poster.
Maximum two intervention modalities per speaker could be presented, which could be formed by up to four participants in all modalities, except the case of posters, where up to six people will be accepted.
All the proposals will have attached the following thing
2. Contents: Author’s name, paper title, address, email, phone, city and country. In case it is a workshop, including methodology, time and maximum number of participants.
3. An ‘abstract’ of no more than 10 lines in two languages: English / Spanish, English / French. It should include: objectives, developing the idea and conclusions.
4. A summary of no more than 60 lines of work in the author’s language and English. This Summary, previously approved by the Scientific Committee, willbe published in the Proceedings Conference Summary.

5. Brief Curriculum Vitae of the author (a), no more than 10 lines in English and the language of the author.
6. Comprehensive resume (CV): not more than 60 lines in English and the language of the author. The Scientific Committee has to assess the short and you can edit. The Curriculum Vitae or authors must include: Education, Experience in mediation and related fields, experience in teaching, publications, membership in organizations of mediators and other professional organizations, any information that might illustrate the professional profile.
7. The complete work, in the language of the author, previously approved by the Scientific Committee, will be published in full in the Proceedings of the Conference Large may travel on line, non-profit, free as a contribution to the worldwide dissemination of mediation, without payment for the authors. This publication is optional. The extent of these effects will work between six and ten pages. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to publish the full paper to fit the mode of publication in full.

8. Entries must be original and may be made by more than one author. Specify technical requirements: overhead projector, slide projector, PowerPoint and / or video.
9. Display Mode: Word, size A4, 1.5 spacing, Arial 11.
10. Reception: All entries will be received by the Chair of the Scientific Committee until April 30, 2012, in digital format at the following address: sc@worldmediationforum.com
11. The work will involve the presentation of the Organizing Committee authorization for publication in proceedings summarize or extensive memory of the Conference for free distribution. Copyright remains with the authors.
12. It is a requirement to accept the presentation of the work, the formalization of the registration of each author to participate in the VIII International Conference WMF and pay the respective fees.
II. AROUND THE THEME OF THE VIII INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: “TIME FOR MEDIATION. LEADERSHIP AND ACTION FOR CHANGE “, will develop the following subject matter, on which will relate the various proposals in any of the formats mentioned above:
1. Culture of peace
2. Business mediation
3. Labor mediation
4. School mediation
5. Police mediation
6. Health mediation
7. Penal mediation
8. Prison mediation
9. Electronic mediation
10. Civil and family mediation
11. Community mediation
12. Intercultural mediation
13. Mediation in Public Policy
14. Organizational mediation
15. New areas for mediation in a new century
16. The quality of mediation. Codes of conduct and initial and further training.
III. EVALUATION OF THE WORK AND PROCEDURES OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE:
1. The Scientific Committee is composed of a significant number of mediators from around the world. Only the work will be evaluated are presented in the official languages of the World Mediation Forum: English, Spanish and French.
2. The list of Evaluators of the Scientific Committee will be published on the site and will appear in the Program.
3. The Scientific Committee members may request and obtain a certificate at the Conference, to demonstrate their performance.
4. All papers will be evaluated by two members of the Scientific Committee of the Eighth International Conference WMF.
• If both pass, the score is: Approved
• If you approve and disapprove the other, shall be defined by a third evaluator.
• Assessors can approve work subject to the requirement to make the corrections indicated by the respective evaluators.
5. Criteria: The evaluation of the Scientific Committee will consider:
a. Conceptual consistency
b. Clarity in the enunciation of ideas
c. Proposal for innovative techniques and methods
d. Contribution to the advancement of Mediation
e. Originality and creativity
f. The work in general and its relation to the Curriculum Vitae
6. Evaluators of the Scientific Committee will submit their assessments within 15 calendar days, counted from the closing date of receipt of the same via online.
7. The assessments will refer briefly to the 6 items of evaluation, the following scale of 1 to 3:
1: Rejected
2: Approved subject to meeting the comments of the evaluators
3: Approved
8. Evaluators shall acknowledge receipt of requests for assessments, for three continuous days of receipt. Otherwise, new evaluators will be assigned.
9. Assessors must decline if they feel a personal relationship with the author / a is a conflict of interest that might interfere with their objectivity.
10. Authors can make their comments to the Scientific Committee on the assessments made. Due to time constraints, there will be appeals from a negative decision.
IV. The Organizing Committee is obliged to distribute the proposals in the different rooms within the scheduled time and must maintain a balance in relation to the diversity of topics and countries with proposals to ensure diversity.
